Some Favourite Tracks From Some Favourite DJs…

Planet V have their big night at Covert this Saturday, so we asked some of the DJ’s playing what their favourite track is… Here’s the answers…

JJ FROST

Sweet Powers by James Mason.ย ‘This track brings back so many memories and the production and intensity of the record makes it one of my all time greatest tunes.’

JORDAN V

‘One of my favourite tracks of all time is I Want You by Marvin Gaye. Heโ€™s the best male Singer of all time as far as ย Iโ€™m concerned and I love many tracks from his catalogue, but one thing I love about this track, is the intro. It builds up for a long time before it drops, but that constant build up adds to the suspense and I love it. This track just edges out Soon Iโ€™ll Be Loving You, which also has the Gaye trademark double bass, bongos and effortless range of vocal ability. Beautiful track.’

GLENN/ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Mob Deep -Shook Ones Part 2. ‘A track that has stood time and a stone cold 90โ€™s Hip Hop classic, which I sill come back to on a regular basis.’

EVESON

Massive attack – Protection. ‘Sound of early 90s Bristol, exquisitely laid back perfection.’

RUS/SAVAGE REHAB

‘WOW… favorite track of all time ..thats asking! I cant speak for Garp but i’ll give you four of mine, one from each corner of dnb. Can’t give you my favorite all time since there is loads, but they are a selection of bangers.’

Liquid: Hustlin’ by Calibre & DRS
Tech: My Generation by Audio ย  ย  ย  ย  ย
Jump up: Mr Happy by Hazard & Distorted minds
Jungle: R Type by Jo

BRYAN G

‘My favourite track is proberbly one of the hardest things for me as my love for music spans through Reggae Soul / R&B/ Hip Hop /House /Garage /Jungle / Drum and Bass, so to pick one is hard. But one that sticks in my mind and proberbly the only album I bought twice is Kenny Burke. The track is called ‘Rising To The Top’, along with tracks like ‘LA Nights’ ,’Before I Let Go.Maze’ย  and Luther Vandrossย is proberbly top of the list for me, mainly as it was my first experience into discovering Funk and was in a special relationship who we both had the same love and passion for the same track / artist / music. For someone coming to London from the country and checking out the Wag Club and other funk spots in the West End was a great time.’
