First time I heard the name Phil Tangent was in the chat room of DJ Bailey‘s u-stream. Bailey played tracks that had been sent to him while the listeners gave feedback, and Phil was one of the brave people who sent his work in to hear what we had to say. I think most of us who heard Phil’s atmospheric and deep tracks knew he had something special.

One of his tracks, ‘Billie’s Smile’ was sent to label boss and producer Marcus Intalex who signed him to Soul:R in 2009, and that was the beginning of the Phil Tangent success saga…
With releases on Samurai Red Seal, Rubik Records, Santorin, Soul:R, and with a forthcoming 12” single on Commercial Suicide, it looks like nothing can stop him.
