Please introduce yourself…

I’m fez from Birmingham and co-owner of Liquescent.

How many years have you been hosting Liquescent events?

Our next event on 5th October is the 1st bday !!

Are they monthly or a few times a year?

So this past year we have had 5 shows.

We are trying to aim for 6-8 shows a year, every 6-8 weeks roughly during 2019…

How many promoters are involved?

Me and my business partner Ian own Liquescent.

We have a team of promoters who we run and manage other events, which helps.

Do promoters in Birmingham work around each other so there’s no clashes?

On a whole yes, but not everyone likes to share dates so clashes do happen.

Proudly we’re not one of those and like to work with others in the local scene.

The line up for your next event is across the full spectrum very diverse, do you think this will pull in more music lovers on the night & will work well in Birmingham?
As i’ve noticed D&B in Birmingham is mainly dominated by one sub genre…

We carefully curate our line ups.

We don’t believe that there should be boundaries in drum and bass.

Although we prefer Liquid and odd bit of jungle, generally we like to pick artists who we like to listen too.

Do you have a dream line up?

Yeh tbh we book the people we want.

There’s a few which we can’t atm due to exclusivities but that’s not to say we can’t in the future.

You just never know what’s around the corner these days.
