‘I got my first decks at 14, so have been mixing 22 years on and off. Would say I have been a DJ the last 2 years really, playing out and on the Radio etc.’

Why did you start?

‘Thatโ€™s easy, Hardcore, Pirate radio and Raves!!!! Before the likes of Charly made it into the charts, I found out about Pirates like Centreforce, Pulse FM, Weekend Rush, Defection and Kool FM. Spent many late nights taping sets of DJ’s to catch tunes like Acen – Close your eyes. Not long after that started going to the record shops like Unity and Black Market, collecting flyers and buying tunes with my pocket money.’

Favorite DJ?

‘That’s hard, I am old school and very particular haha Not wanting to start a Debate – the DJ has to be a DJ, not a producer who has to DJ because the label dictates it. I prefer vinyl users over most, and those who cut their teeth back before you could take the easy option with Technology. If I had to say 1 it’s Andy C, but in reality its more like Randall, AMC who is so underated in my opinion, Cause 4 Concern. That said a lot of the DJ’s I have met, are superior than these big name DJ’s, all about the real DJ’s.’

What else are you involved in?

I work for Knowledge magazine, as resident DJ and I run the Presents nights we hold Monthly. I am also a Resident DJ on Rough Tempo and I have a weekly show 9am-11am each Saturday. I have played out at various events and I am now looking to push it a little more in 2014.

Tell me about your guest mix.

It’s taken me a while to get around to it for you but I normally play a little harder and opt for Neuro and Tech. This isn’t everyone’s cup of Tea so I had a little rummage in the crates and decided to make a mix reflecting a lot of the styles of D&B. Starting lighter and progressing a little harder towards the end. I really enjoyed the mix, some of the tunes I havenโ€™t played for a long while, it spans many years and its ALL Vinyl!!!

Any last words?

‘Support your local nights and DJ’s with out them there is no scene! Thank you to you for the kind words and shout to the Knowledge and Rough Tempo family.’
