One of my favourite labels from back in the day, Philly Blunt was resurrected a couple of years back and hasn’t disappointed yet.  The Serum & Vapour collaboration ‘Killing Your Sound’ features a droning bassline, time stretched vocals and a rolling amen and is everything you’d expect from the producers synonymous with resurrecting the old school jungle sound over the last few years. The flip is the VIP of Rat Trap which was one of my favourite tunes from 2010, which offers a variant on the original deep dark and heavy punchy bassline, whistle melody and rolling beats. Whilst you could argue there’s nothing particularly standout about either of these tracks, I’d say that both are useful tools to keep the party/mix going and would be a worthy addition to your record collection.
