This weekend is looking rather delicious if you like your drumandbass ravings. On Friday from 22.00 the guys from Intent2Supply are taking over Rhythm Factory in East London and letting Broken Audio take care of one of the floors. I’m a big Intent2Supply fan since I always have a good time there- the music is banging, the atmosphere amazing and the venue perfect for these kind of nights. I had a little chat with the boys to know more about them!
Who are behind Intent2Supply?
Intent is run by Tim & Gary and a handful of really good friends and artists who help behind the scenes.
How long have you been doing the nights?
We’ve been running it since 2008 and it has grown stronger and stronger each year. We have a great following of true DnB heads spanning across the ages.
Why did you start doing it? Intent was started just to put across something slightly different; raw, dark, edgy tech step filled flavours. All the line ups are pretty personal and we love the fact that people are so in to what we put on. It takes a lot of effort and we always try to make our line ups a bit different to the norm.
What kind of drumnbass do you usually supply the crowd with? It is definitely at the harder edged side of the DnB spectrum but still caters across the board. Expect Dark, rolling beats and breaks, huge bass and nasty lead lines…. Bucket loads of vibes and a massive smiling crowd who won’t leave till they’re kicked out.
We have some great residents on board too: Cern, Dose, Phil Source, Unknown Error, DJ E, Kaizen, Nyx, Conduct, Smyla, D’Zine, FT and a wicked selection of forward thinking MC’s like Fokus, Stapleton, K-Eye, KB and Hostile. We have had Broken Audio in Room 2 for quite a few of our nights this year. They bring a much deeper sound and have had some outstanding line ups including the likes of DBR UK, Skeptical, Amoss, Genotype to name but a few. It’s nice to be able to get a more varied sound going on throughout the night.
