Ed Rush – 96-99 set
There arenโt many artists who can claim to have changed the face of a genre of music, let alone to have changed that face more than once. Ed Rush, however, is an exception to that rule. Ever since his first production outings alongside his neighbour (and infamous owner of No U Turn Records), Nico Sykes, Ed Rush has consistently proven he has the ideas and attitude to transform drum & bass and is never afraid to push that infamous envelope. We have booked Ed Rush for a 96-99 set, something of a rarity these days and in such an intimate venue his set promises to be nothing short of epic, unmissable is an understatement.
Sappo – Jungle Set
advisory/maverick records
Sappo started out in 1993, making tunes thatโd end up helping usher in the sound of Jungle as we know it today. With a bulk of his output starting to be released in 1995, one of his largest tunes, and an anthem for years to come (“Ding Dong Bass”) helped solidify his spot within the scene. Building off of that, he started his Advisory Records imprint in 1998, which served as an outlet for his output, as well as cuts from Mutated Forms and remix work from staples like Kenny Ken and many more. He spent four years on BBC 1Xtra with the D&B M1x show, helping bring the only national four-hour Drum & Bass Show to the masses, as well as hosting the Xtra Bass tour shows. One of Manchesterโs most educated selectors is booked to play a full on jungle set which is guaranteed not to disappoint.
