SUBMIT finish off their 2016 residency at the CLF Art Cafe, Block A, Bussey Building with one of the giants in the game โ Exit Records bossman and all around scene veteran DBridge. In support is his Autonomic & Heart Drive co-conspirator Kid Drama (Instra:mental) plus Carlo Anderson & the SUBMIT residents for a night of first rate DnB, Juke, Jungle & Bass.
dBridge
โSimple as: if you donโt know Darren White, you donโt know drumโnโbassโ (Joe Muggs, FACT)
dBridge has been responsible for some of the highest calibre music to move dancefloors during the past 2 decades. From DnB classics like โTrue Romanceโ through to his recent House / Techno output under his Velvit alias, Darren White is truly one of the most versatile producers & DJs there is. dBridge is also a tireless & innovative label boss, staying true to the craft with Exit Records since 2003. Not just a vehicle for his own work, Exit has allowed him to mentor & develop the careers of a new generation of artists and push the label outside of the DnB template โ whether thatโs blending Juke & Jungle influences in Fractures โLoving Touchโ EP or the Grime inspired tracks from Om Unit & Sam Bingaโs collaboration.
A genre defying & crowd moving DJ who has played sets at the finest festivals & venues in the world, weโre insanely excited to have him join us in SE15 for the final instalment of our Bussey series in 2016. Not to be missed!
Kid Drama
Autonomic founder, 1 half of Instra:mental (alongside Al โBoddikaโ Green), Convex Industries boss & seriously skilled selector, Damon Kirkham joins his long time partner in crime at The CLF/Bussey this October. First getting the worldโs attention with the refreshingly stripped back DnB style of Instra:mental, Kirkham was central to developing the highly influential Autonomic sound. Built off the back of a brilliant podcast series, the Autonomic dream team of dBridge & Instra:mental also delivered arguably the finest mix in the Fabric / Fabriclive series โ Fabriclive.50. Not content to simply tear up the 170bpm rule book Instra:mental went on to release some of the finest Electro / Techno stompers to bless a set of speakers with 3024 release โPyramidโ & their LP Resolution 653.
Since calling time on the Instra:mental collaboration Kirkham has continued to make intricate, half-time DnB as Kid Drama and alongside dBridge began the compelling Heart Drive podcast series. In addition to this is his club decimating 4×4 releases as Jon Convex, showing that Kirkham is an artist who is unlikely to ever be constrained by genre or tempo. He tore Brixton Jamm to pieces for SUBMIT back at our 2nd Birthday gig (playing as Jon Convex) and weโve been waiting to get him back for a Kid Drama set ever since!
