Heres a quick Q&A with the man himself.

Don’t miss the guest mix you can download for free, exclusively for Drum+Basics.

How did you finally set yourself into mixing Drum&Bass?

It was around 2007/8 when I first started to listen to drum&bass music after already djing other genres for 3years. I was involved in pirate radio for a few years at the early stages of my DJ life, at the time I wasn’t about drum&bass but I used to check all the London pirates online through online streams, one Sunday I heard some drum&bass for the first time and the atmospheres and tension in the beats is what gripped me. From then I started downloading mixes, recordings and the journey began from there.

What influenced you into music production?

Well in a way it was a natural progress after just Djing records for 6years that I started actually writing my own music, my ears refined into the darker edge sound of drum&bass. I started getting a few ideas down at first and the feedback was coming back positive each time, the creativity seemed to burst out of nowhere after 6yrs of just playing beats.

We’ve noticed that you have been DJing at numerous events over the last year. Which event has been the most memorable for you?

Tough question, in terms of personal respect in myself it will have to be playing at Soul:ution in Manchester. Band on the Wall is a historic music venue which has stayed a firm foundation of Manchester music, just getting the chance to play there was big enough. On the night it was a bank holiday Sunday, I warmed in the first hour with Galvini and within 20-25mins the place was packed and instantly rocking. I won’t forget that moment ever. Out to Marcus & Emma for that experience.

Any artists which you would like to collab with?

Controversial question ha, there is a list really. People I want to work with are people I speak to, follow their music, appreciate their music, play their music. Again I think it will be a natural thing rather than me calling them out. Hope to work with Overlook one day as we have spoke about it but the timing will have to be on point on both sides.

Have you any forthcoming releases?

Yeah, up next is my colab EP with Paragon forthcoming on Nurtured Beatz; ‘Deadly Design EP’. Release date 20/10/14. Keep your eyes peeled for audio clips.

And any final words from yourself?

Here’s that moment where people get missed out haha. Thanks for getting me involved in this feature. Out to Spotwork Recordings where I record my pod casts. And just a huge thank you to everyone I speak to when I’m out and about, online, other producers I send my music to and people who like what I’m doing. It does not go under appreciated I assure you.

Many Thanks from Drum+Basics.

Here’s a great guestmix from Antagonist!
