Virus celebrate the 10th anniversary of Audio’s ‘Genesis Device’ LP. Back in 2010, Audio dropped his second album via Ed Rush & Optical’s imprint, championing a darker side of the genre that equally borrowed from tech step and neurofunk. An instant classic in the label’s back catalogue, its distinctive metallic sound would go on to influence many other artists exploring a similarly heavyweight strain of drum & bass. A number of other key members of the Virus crew land for the celebrations, with Ed Rush & Optical returning. The tech step pioneers have been at the forefront of the scene since the early days, and outside of their duties at Virus, they’ve also remained close to us at FABRICLIVE. They also invite Black Sun Empire, the Dutch trio who have long pushed their own high-energy, dancefloor-driven style of 170BPM. Their sound, which can also be heard via their eponymous label, is about as relentless as neurofunk drum & bass gets, and their appearance with us should showcase this to its limit. Prolix also joins us, having recently put out a number of high-octane cuts on BSE’s Blackout Music NL label. DIVIDID signee Buunshin also stops by alongside our resident Mark Dinimal, who’s been making quite a storm with the ProgRAM camp. Rymetyme takes on hosting with one more special guest set to round off the Room One bill, details for which we’ll be dropping soon.

In Room Two, we welcome one of our favourite labels pushing the harder end of 170BPM club music: Therapy Sessions. Led by Robyn Chaos, this crew was born out of a need for bringing more dark and experimental drum & bass to London, and it’s since become one of the sound’s leading imprints. A bedrock of the capital’s D&B scene, this May the team invites a host of their key affiliates to make their debuts with us. Counterstrike, the South African duo best known for their fierce cuts on Algorythm, touch down in our cavernous room. Another of the darkstep scene’s favourites and a Therapy Sessions mainstay, Kitech also joins us. Fortitude, Section 63 and Switch Technique finally all join Robyn Chaos for what should be a night of hard-hitting, intense drum & bass sounds in the depths of our space.
